When two bastions of high-quality British engineering join forces, the results are usually spectacular. That’s undoubtedly the case with the just-launched Pashley-Morgan bicycle range – combining the design talents, passion and craftmanship of Britain’s longest-established bicycle and automotive manufacturers.
Pashley Cycles and the Morgan Motor Company are names synonymous with British style, quality and longevity. This year, they’ve collaborated to release a range of bicycles set to redefine luxury bicycle design, and Blackwell and Sons customers will have exclusive access to these two-wheeled modern masterpieces.
First in the range are the Pashley-Morgan 3 and Pashley-Morgan 8. Each will be hand-built at Pashley’s Stratford-upon-Avon factory, and features an extensive list of high-quality components.
The bicycles have a stylish hand-crafted frame featuring a new curved top tube design. For the technically minded – the frame is fillet brazed using Reynolds 631 tubing and incorporates a custom-formed top tube, frame-mounted race plate, distinctive S-bend seat stays and unique track ends with etched stainless faces. But you knew that already.
The Pashley Morgan 8 is finished in light pearl grey and features a subtle livery inspired by Morgan’s racing heritage. Hand-stitched black leather grips are complemented by Morgan aluminium end caps (based on a dashboard control). Matching mudguard and chainguard are hand crafted in-house at Morgan’s factory using black ash.
The Pashley-Morgan 3 is finished in British Racing Green, also inspired by Morgan’s racing heritage. It features hand-stitched honey leather grips and Morgan aluminium end caps, a Brooks B17 saddle, with walnut laminated wood veneer short mudguards and matching chainguard – both handmade in the Morgan wood shop.
